4 - 9 April 2010
École de Physique, les Houches, France, April, 4 – 9, 2010
This conference is devoted to Atom Lasers from their production to their applications.
The latest progress in the manipulation of atoms with light and fields lead to the creation of an atom laser, a coherent matter wave in which many atoms occupy a single quantum mode. Atom lasers are of fundamental interest in many fields, from fundamental studies to practical applications such as atom interferometry because of their sensitivity to inertial fields.
It will be organized with 8 to 10 tutorial lectures of 1h30 (2 each morning), followed by three to five half hour talks in the afternoon. There will be several invited half hour talks and a majority of contributed talks. These contributions will be supplemented by a poster session allowing open discussion. In addition to the invited speakers (about 1/3 of the audience), this conference is intended for a majority of young scientists and PhD students involved in this emerging field.
The organizing committee will be made of J. Close (Canberra), P. Bouyer (Orsay) and D. Guéry-Odelin (Toulouse).
